Oak Heart is a renovation and interior design project of the first floor of a traditional residential apartment located in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

The new space is made up around an “oak heart”, a big shared walk-in closet. The cubic wooden core is sensitively touched by a metal framed glass corridor, which contains the entrances to all the rooms, provides continuity and allows light to reach deep into the interiors.

Furthermore, the new design emphasises the connection with the exterior with a complete new opening at the back facade giving on the garden. In the bathroom, warm wood, blue ceramic handcrafted tiles and natural lava stone basins add calming and peaceful touches to this room, allowing the residents to focus on their physical wellness in a relaxing environment.
